Subject: RE: Planting in float position?

North Central Illinois
yes you want to be in the float position when planting. but don't go to float until planter is all the way down or it will take much longer for planter to go down. float is needed for outer sections and the markers if you are using them.

for the problem of low population in a couple rows i would switch the low row meter and mini hopper with one next to it to determine the problem. if problem remains in the same row then try cleaning sensor in tube then replace if necessary if problem moves check singulator to be sure it is not bent slightly by looking through the holes to see if it covers the same amount as row that work fine, replace if needed if not try to adjust it up to 4 or 5 and try that.

for those having problems with bridging at the mini hopper try a 50/ 50 mix of talc and graphite, we did this and reduced the problem by 95%. they also have an update now which we installed but have yet to get to try for this problem.
