I agree -- I like UTP products very well. I really like the UTP-612 rod for general welding - AC or DC, even a ham-fisted welder like me can make good welds.

The other alternative here is Stoody 31 rod. General purpose hard-facing rod, AC or DC. I've used a lot of it on shanks, ripper points, S-tine points, etc.
