I had a carrier bearing go bad in my 846 one time and it made a noise when I turned and sounded like the rear diff was going out. I would change that carrier bearing also to make sure any play is out of the driveline. At first I changed just the u joints and thought the carrier bearing was alright. Put a bar under the bearing and check for any movement at all.
