I've sprayed thousands and thousands of acres of glyphosate with a floater on 60" with floods @ 10gpa. It's never failed to work yet. 1800 gallons at 19 mph and 10gpa will cover a buttload of acres in a day.....enough to use up the operator.

If you want to go to 30" spacing (ours is set up so that we could, too) then you could easily use flat fans at that boom height. Having the boom higher then the minimum is not a problem as long as you are not facing wind issues.
