Yes, we have done comaprisons between 15s & 30s in both corn & beans, but mostly in beans. In beans in side by sides we haven't seen a significant difference in yield to say that one row width is consistenenly better than the other. Biggest factor I have seen over the years is moisture. In a dry year ultra narrow rows will tend to do better, In wet years the advantage normally goes to the wider rows. Last year, a wet one for us & most of our side by sides were drowned out, what we could salvage was the 30" rows were right around 1bpa better than the 15s.

Really haven't done enough side by sides on 15" row corn to say one way or the other. About 4 years ago we put out about 150 acres of 15" corn but it wasn't an actual side by side but was in blocks which made for to many variances to be a good test. What we did see that year was that the best 15" corn did was 2 bpa less than 30" rows & the worst was 19 bpa less for the 15s.

There a 3 or 4 guys running 20" corn in this area and a couple that have been in 15s for 3-4 years. One farm that has been 20" corn is supposedly going to 30s this year. Both guys that ran 15s have switched to 20s. As for us, we have switched to 20s for both corn & beans.
