Subject: Re: JD 1790 owners???????????????

Neighbor had one of the prototype 1790s that pulled crooked. We purchased a '04 16/32 1790, first year of actual production, but never had problems with it pulling crooked. When the dealer couldn't figure out what was wrong with the neighbor's they came down & looked at ours. Come to find out the wing hinges on the neighbors were welded on wrong. JD refused to do anything about it.

We also had a Kinze 16/32 and were told to be sure the row cleaners were settup so that the left wheel led on one side of the planter & the right led on the other side or it would pull crooked. When we got our 1240 we noticed all the rows cleaners had they same wheel leading. When we asked the service manager, same dealer that we purchased the Kinze from, he said that was the way CIH said to set them up.

When we purchased the 1790, we looked at a CIH 1200 but went with the 1790 because the 1200 was not available in a 16/32, only 16/31.
