Subject: Re: Duracell batteries

EC Kansas
The latest instance of finding the white precipitate on a battery involved the clock that hangs on the wall in my office in the house. It had been keeping time until I noticed it stopped and found the mess. I would have expected some corrosion if it had been sitting run down for a considerable time; hence my question about Duracells. Maybe discarding batteries on a regular basis is the solution, but after a quick survey of the number of batteries in the main rooms of the house; Holy Cow!!!!! I hadn't realized how many battery operated devices we have. And we don't have any kids left at home!
