EC Kansas | Not really machinery, I guess, but anyway............in the last several months we've had several battery operated gizmos quit and we've found white corrosion at one end of the batteries or another. So far we've been able to clean things up with baking soda and get everything functional, but it certainly shortens the life of whatever it happens to. The batteries aren't old, they have years left on the date on them. It's happened in the house and the shop, so I don't think it's a temerature related thing. Always a Duracell, not necessarily the same size, smaller ones are worse. We've switched to Eveready but still have a lot of Duracells left that aren't very old; we tend to buy several at a time , mostly at Walmart, so we always have replacements. Anyone else having trouble or just my bad luck? | |
