I put body molding strips between the holes so that the cut off wheels don't bounce so much. I found fairly wide strips that were slightly rounded on the edges so the wheels would start to drop down just as they hit the dimple in the drum. It makes a fair amount of difference in how smooth the drum turns and it does a much more accurate job of planting.
