East-Central Ontario | Have you checked out the partnership laws lately? Not sure what the deal is in Manitoba, but in Ontario, anything included under a valid partnership agreement automatically goes to the surviving partners after the death of one partner, NOT to the spouse and is not part of the estate, so the life insurance in that case should benefit the spouse. No idea if this affects your partnership but it's a question to be asked if it hasn't already. | |
