Subject: RE: It's past time..

Kittitas Co. Wa. State

American Agriculture has sat on it's collective ass and done nothing for years. It's past time everyone in Ag. all the individual's, collective groups/associations, everyone band together set specific goals of what need to be accomplished, (education, explanations, all of it) and start getting the message out and garnering support. Just about everyone pays "check off dollars" for whatever orginazation, commission, whatever, it's time those dollars were used to really educate the general public.

We in Ag, are aware of what happens and why it happens in a certain way. The General public DOES NOT!  They are sooo far removed from their actual food sourse, they only know "food" comes from the store.

About every poster on here (who is a farmer) is dead set against unions, orginazations, or anything that smacks of any less than "rugged individualism" - "every man for himself, either go it alone or don't go at all'.

Well it is past time,,,California now has a new law which will drive food prices way up,, and also drive many farmer's and or farm's out of Kalifornacatia..

Is that rugged individualism so all mighty important that everyone is willing to watch an industry be crippled to the point it won't survive and neither will those who are in it??
