Makes sense. Mom and Dads new house (not really new, but not the same house) is an open layout. Eating in the living room is a no no. So says the cook. But we eat 90% of our meals at a breakfast bar. The TV is easily viewable from there. You more or less face it. And it is on at most meals.
I don't remember eating and watching TV as a child. Mom wanted us to eat together. But I am sure it was on at noon when dad was in....
