Subject: Shifting a 10 speed transmission

South-central Nebraska
Our first semi tractor has a 10 speed behind a 12.7 Detroit. Different opinions on what rpms to upshift on. I've seen a few recent articles on progressive shifting up at lower rpms for fuel savings and lower torque curves. So in my very limited driving I've been winding up to 1400, letting rpm drop 400 to shift in the lower gears and winding closer to 1700, dropping 400 rpms to shift in the upper gears. Seems smooth but some guys tell me to wind up higher towards 2000 rpm especially with a Detroit????? Just wanted some feedback.
