West Central MN | Here's a link which should take you to a description of the northern divide and if you scroll down just a little bit you will see a nice map.
http://www.nationalatlas.gov/articles/geology/a_continentalDiv.html...
On the western side of Minnesota there is small bump which sticks out into South Dakota. The bump is formed by Lake Traverse and Big Stone Lake. Very near Browns Valley MN there is a small stretch of land which divides the two lakes. This is the continental divide. Lake Traverse flows north and becomes the Red River of the North. Big Stone Lake flows south and it becomes the Minnesota River at Ortonville, MN.
Edit: I guess Chad H posted pretty much the same thing while I was responding, but I will leave my answer anyway since we did have different maps.
