Subject: Harvest Tec Applicators on Big Balers

Merrill, WI
The guys that have used these types of systems, are you using the Auto mode or do you calculate the tons per hour or bale per minute and just use the manual mode. The reason I am asking is that this past year with my new hesston 3x4 baler, I seem to have had some bales go bad on me. To me it looks as if it did not get enough prop on or the coverage was not enough. Before my older 3x3 seem to be fine with the older Harvest tec system.

Im thinking two things. 1. I have to put more on, because the baler is baling so much more hay and run manual mode instead of Auto mode to make sure I am getting on what I need. 2. Or I need to add a few more nozzles to get a little more coverage of the product, since prop. works on contact. The wider throat and header is the reason I think I may need to do this. I guess I was wonder what you would do in my case? The hay I bale is pretty consistent in moisture and only at times do I ever get above 20-22, maybe outside round by woods or tree line.
