Back in 79 when dad bought a new 1086 the duals and the inside tires were different brands, also my grandpa bought a new 970 case, those tires didn't match either. Firestone and goodyears. The firestones were taller and were supposed to be on the inside, the shorter goodyears on the outside. Two different dealers 40+ miles away so I think its more common than you think. These days you don't see it.
