Subject: difference between a 30 and 40 series Deere tractors

Walnut Grove MN USA
Looking to add another horse to the operation and looking at a '78 4840 or a '76 4630. Both powershift and have not seen the tractors yet. Pretty familiar with the 40 series but not the 30. What are the differences? Not looking to do any heavy tillage, mostly planter, sprayer, disc kind of work. Are the 30 series hydralics the same as the 40 or just a step above my 4020? It needs to run a vac planter and hyd spray pump. 4630 is quite a bit less money.
