We have one. I wouldnt waste the time removing the shanks, just block up the rams on the hydraulics and you're good to go. Ours has lights on it already, although i've never tried it they appear to be the same plug the factory sent on the back of my ford. Spare tire wouldnt hurt, the tires on it are likely fine, they dont get beat to heck in the field like on a plow.
