Are you sure its not just that there is less smoke when warmed up and therefore apears as if its not leaking as bad? Im also going to try and find an air cleaner off the newer 5200 series massey to move it out of the way aswell and then patch up the holes in the hood ofcourse. Its a bit of a job and might not get done this year but il let you know how it goes
