Subject: taking a check for equipment from an out of state purchaser?

west Tennessee

I've got a guy from out of state that wants to buy a lil mini truck from me. its not a titled vehicle. This guy is not a farmer, he is buying the litle truck to resell to another individual ,who ranches, at a profit.

somy question is. I dont know this guy. What would be the best way for me to recieve payment safely leaving me unexposed to a scam or bad check etc? I have heard that certified checks are abad deal these days? as they are easily counterfeited? Should I take a check? wire transfer?or good old green cash franklins? any ideas? David
