Put some vinegar or muratic acid and water in it and shake it around. It will eat up the rust and wash it out in short order. Give it a few days. Test something in the open to convince yourself. We sold vinegar to steel companies all the time for rust removal use Does not make any difference if white or cider vinegar. Safe and good way to do it. Gifford
