Oklahoma | Dad has always rented a post hole auger or had "hand operated digger" to set posts. Working on a new corral in tight ground and he has mentioned several auctions that have 3pt models for sale. I have gone to a couple sales and they were always torn up, twisted PTO, auger worn out, or something and they always seem to bring $250 or better. Searching the net, looks like a new one can be bought for a couple hundred more than that. Would love to have a Belltec or nice hydraulic unit to mount on a loader but those are more money than what we want to part with at the moment. I am wondering why buy used though if a new one can be bought for a little more.
Are all the 3pt models the same but different paint/decals?
What is a decent price for a 12 inch auger new?
Any brands to avoid?
