Subject: Is there a big difference in clearance b/n 3xxx and 6xxx?

Do the newer series have a lot more clearance (higher and longer)? My current finisher had many of the shanks near the rolling basket (behind the disk in this case) and the rear row was closely spaced as well. I've done a little moving around to gain some clearance, but I can't do much about height (it was an early 80's model). I don't have many problems with underframe clearance unless the trash is really deep - I figured most of my clogging problems were caused by shank and other component spacing rather than height, but I could be wrong.

The bottom line is would I better off paying $8000 for a 3131 or paying $14000 for dmi tm1? The lower price and the impression that a finisher should be able to make a better seed bed cause me to think seriously about the krause, but if the dmi will do a better job in more situations I may be happier in the long run getting the dmi and figuring out a way to pay for it.

Thanks,

Pat
