I had this problem with my 2188 before we went to the field. I was thinking a wiring problem and or hydraulic problem. I called my service man and he told me that if the rear switch by the roller gets stuck, the auger will not go out. The roller is by the saddle the auger sits in when in the back position. Spray some penetrating oil on the switch and see if this helps.
