Subject: Re: Wireless rain gauges????

I have an Oregon Scientific that I bought this spring . So far I have been very disappointed with the thing & with the company. I have had problems with a couple transmitter & they were suppose to send a new one but so far haven't seen hide nor hair of it. They said it was back ordered & would take 6-8 weeks but that was back in May.

I still keep an old fashion rain guage on the post next to where the rain recepticle is for the electronic guage. Once in a while they are fairly close but most times there's quite a bit of difference. I have basically lived in the same house for 50 years so have a pretty good idea how much rain we get just by the puddle size in the barnlot. The old fashion guage is much more accurate. Often it takes a .2 -.3" rain for the O.S. to even read that we have had a rain.

IMO, I wasted my money.
