Subject: how are the 1916-4?

Oswald No-Till Farm Cleghorn, IA
Just wondering how the 1916-4 are doing further north. Here, my early beans are the best (again). The 1916-4 don't look like much (narrow, tan/gray) but are yielding better than tall bushy varieties even in 30" rows. NK 21-N6 quite good as well. Later beans are tough straw. 2062-4 are tall and very, very tough.

Haven't done the test plot yet due to a number of later varieties. If 1916-4 do well there, I hope they still are available even though not in the catalog.

Seeing some but not huge boost to 15" rows I made by double planting... won't argue too much with your 3 bu. I'll call it 1-3... hard to get good header width for accurate comparisons vs. 10-30" rows with the 25' head.

Haven't been into the 2523-4 much. Tawny pods on a green stem.

Mike, please email me as I lost your contact info in an Outlook crash a month ago.

Be safe,

Tom
