Aberdeen MS
Equipment..... what is your depreciation/appreciation for this year... maintenance costs ... ins.... etc

Time.... what value do you put on your hours spent working the operation.

Storing.... commercial storage here is 3 cents a month. Depending on your facilities.... what's the breakdown on depreciation, maintenance, RE taxes, ins, elec for fans etc.

Transporting... what does it cost per mile or per bu to do ALL the hauling related to the crop harvested.

If you don't know those numbers or can put your finger on them relatively quickly, you haven't done enough homework on your operation to come up with a somewhat accurate number if you've been financially successful in the past either.

But don't take this as a personal slam to you. There are many growers that only take a look at the check book at the end of the year and say a black number we made money..... a red number means we lost. And then scratch their head wondering why????
