Malheur County Oregon | It seems like everything in our area has been two weeks late. From wheat to seed peas and dry beans. Now onion harvest is running waaay behind normal. The crop was slow all year long and late maturing out. Then just as we were getting ready to start a big rain hit and stopped us for a week. We went hard this last week but had late starts all week due to heavy dews in the mornings and as soon as the sun went down at night the ground moisture came up and stopped us early. Then last night we had another shower come through and has probably stopped us again for a few days.
Still have nearly 550 loads left to get out. 10 to 12 hard days. We usually are finished by the first few days of Oct.
Just been a strange year it seems. | |
