As Rick already said, Ford has used that system since 1981 on the 10 series. I think calling it PFC is a streatch... but it certainly has 'pressure compensated' 'flow control' and is absolutely a 'load sensing' system. It's flow control works in much the same manner as you would get from one of those 100 buck valves you plumb in the line for flow control. It's still got to dump the excess pump flow though, and that's done at pressure... not like a true PFC system where it simply backs the pump down.
It's a reasonably reliable system and gives pretty decent performance for what it is. Mind you, I'm talking about the Ford variant here, not the 'new' Deere type.
