Central Il Morton | Combining SB this afternoon when suddenly the cylinder stopped dead. Belts smoking. No rock or other obstruction was found! Cylinder turned free but rocked back and forth like a key that is half sheared would have between the cylinder and the dual range drive.
I put the drive in low range and tried cutting but it had a terrible vibration and clunking noise.
On advice of my service manager I pulled the oil plug but found nothing foreign.
What is wrong here? Could the planetary drive be broke with out debris in the oil?
