Carl In Georgia
Posted 10/2/2008 18:28 (#473866 - in reply to #473840)
Subject: 2009 Cotton....

Ashburn, GA, (very close to Heaven!)

Weldon - 10/2/2008 17:25 .... P.S. Carl what do you think cotton acres will do in Georgia next year?

Down another 15 to 25%, especially if beans remain strong. However, with this dry weather here lately, the yield prospects on those "Georgia pauper peas", a.k.a. soybeans, have gone south, while cotton has weathered things fairly well.

Irrigated soybeans and dryland peanuts pencil out pretty good. Cotton versus corn depends on prices and input costs.
