Subject: Sorghum Midge

Ashburn, GA, (very close to Heaven!)

I have some grain sorghum that I am scouting; it is planted behind watermelons and is really looking good. It is 70-90% headed and about 15-25% blooming. It's under a pivot.

Should I automatically treat for midge? I am shaking the heads into a waste basket but can't find any of those gnat sized adults, but wonder....
