Woodham, Ontario
We planted a lot of silage corn this year, much more than previous years. We calculated that we had enough, also considering the amount of alfalfa we have this year. All the bunks are going to be full this year.

We use the dumptrailers because we already have the tractors and they cause much less compaction than trucks. All our land is right around the barns, so distance is not an issue. We do cobmeal because we don't own a combine. There is not much nutricional value in the cob, but it is a lot easier to grind the corn in one pass this way. Cheaper to buy the head than to rent or buy additional equipment.
