Are you sure on that?  I think your date is correct on the change to CDC engines but I don't think they lowered the RPM on them until the 44/66/88 series machines came out.  My personal opinion is that the value of the CDC engine is over rated until you get up in a 44/66/88 machine that ran at lower RPM.
