North Central Montana (Conrad)
The plowing and discing should be good on it. The biggest thing is do not let it idle too long for any reason. Warm up should only be 2 or 3 minutes. Then put it too work. Cool down same thing only 3 or 4 minutes. Work it at different rpms throughout the day. Depending on the eninge start at the lower end of the top of the torque curve and work your way up and then back down again. Like on an engine where peak torque is 1700 rpm, start at 1500 and then go to 1700 and then to 1900 and then back to 1700 and then to 1500. If you let it idle too long the rings will not seat and it will drink oil and you will never get peak performance.
