Geuda Springs, Kansas
definatly use break in oil that doesnt have any detergents in it. once 15w40 hits the rings they will never ever seat. If it is a tractor that wont be doing alot of pulling but for say more loader work or hay work such as a 4020, i usually run break in oil in it for 100 hours, change the oil, and run break in oil for 100 more hours just to be sure the rings seat properly. Its also important to get it hot. You can do this by working it and also putting a peice of card board in front of the radiator, however be careful and watch the guage closely.
