If you do decide to run it on 5 cylinders be prepared to replace the clutch also during your overhaul.It will knock the dampener springs loose in the disc. (I'm speaking from experience).You will also find a certain rpm range that the vibration from the lack of a firing cylinder is better .Mine was 1800-1900 Rpm on a 301 ci Allis Chalmers engine that burned an exhaust valve on #5 cylinder it had 0 psi compression. It held together for about 20 engine hrs before I could tear it down to repair.The vibration at an idle speed WILL be terrible...
