Subject: Re: dry fert through grain drill??

NE Colorado
We're able to screen it in the hopper of the fill auger of the air seeder. We use a grate with 3/8" diamter holes that allows the fertilizer through but stops the lumps. I've seen similar screens rigged up over the intake of a truck mounted drill fill auger. By the way with a straight 11-52-0 product we fill the drill at start of drilling and clean it at the end of the season. If you mix much urea with it it will draw moisture like crazy in an unsealed drill box and then you will have problems without regular cleanout.
