Subject: Re: dry fert through grain drill??

NE Colorado
We've put hundreds of tons of 11-52-0 through a 1910 JD air cart with no damage to the meters. Be sure to screen the fertilizer as it goes in the drill to avoid problems with hard lumps that might damage meters. Fertilizer will however wear out the air hoses that conduct product from the cart to the seeder openers so after 4 or 5 hundred hours of operation some tubes may spring leaks. That won't be a problem on your drill.
