Subject: Keverneland Plough

Hi: I just bought an older 4 btm conventional Keverneland plough (3pt) that does not have the spring resets. I am pulling it with a JD5520 (85hp). Its in great shape, but my friend told me to get rid of it because it does not have the resets or shear pins. I have some rock and don't want to break anything. While you can adjust the JD 3 point hitch to float I am worried that it won't make a differnce anyway or it won't plough worth a darn if I do that. Am I missing something or is my friend right? I bought it because used 4 btm ploughs are very hard to come by within a 1000 miles and I have been looking for quite a while.
