| The wavy-wavy will pull just a little bit harder. I dont think a person would be able to tell much of a difference. They do pull easier in the fall because the ground is hard. I use mine in wheat stubble in the fall and soy and pinto bean stubble in the spring. I pulled mine this spring with the 8320 and it did just fine. Do you have your 8420 weighted up, I had 2000 lbs in the rear 1600 lbs up front. The summers in on gangs, but they handle rocks really well. Trust me I have rocks, from the little football sized all the way to dead heads, and I have broken a few blades over the years but nothing that would make me say they dont handle rock. They handle rock very well. I put 30000 acres on my first one and I only replaced one gang bearing. So in that reguard I think they are great in rocks and are designed very well. The salford is much lighter, and with a coulter machine it is all about weight to get penetration. They may be a little better in rocks, but I would not want to deal with all those tapered roller bearings. What crops are you in. Are you getting harrows or a rolling chopper? For my crops the harrow is great, but if you are in corn the rolling chopper may be something you want to look at.
