Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | That info is correct. That is why a couple of AC repair/retrofit sites I visit recommend NOT flushing an R12 system during a retrofit to R134a, as it removes the old mineral oil from the inside of the hoses. That old R12 type mineral oil serves as a pretty good stop leak to help the non barrier type hoses Retain R134a. They say that a compressor failure that has loaded the system with trash is the only good reason to flush an R134a retrofit.
I have slowed or stopped R134 leaks on several systems by adding 1 or more cans of hose /seal / O ring conditioner .
It has worked so well that I now add it to every R134a retrofit.
