I've seen a few which had missing bars in the middle of the holes. I have no idea how they might have got that way, but it doesn't hurt anything and stuff will come out better on them. It's probably not safe for some reason...I guess maybe the operator could somehow reach out through the closed cab door and remove the cleanout door and then somehow get his hand in there while it's running??
