Subject: Re: best way to straighten kinked 8" irrigation pipe?

I'd thought of the cut-and-buttweld idea but we can't do aluminum here at our shop nor cut 8" pipe in our little bandsaw so that'd mean a trip to the local machine shop. Not a big deal but I know it'd be hard to get it back nice and strong afterwards. Buttweld with an outer sleeve over it is a possibility, but a fair bit more expensive too. I'm not familiar with a pipe press so I'd have to call around to see who has one. There might be one in the local city (45 mins away). Freezing it won't work I don't think. We rent space at a large freezer plant that could do it, but I think it'd mean filling the whole pipe with water, capping it off somehow, and maybe wrecking the rest of the pipe and ends as the middle got pushed out. I might make a phone call or two to see what a replacement would cost, but the closest place that might have one is at least 5 hours by truck. The place I got my system from was a lot closer but went out of the irrigation business.
