Subject: RE: Generator question

Orange County NY
I have the same unit. Mine is red and says Dayton on the side but is made by Generac.

The power dead ends at my farm with only a 200 head horse farm between me and the main line. ( about 1.5 miles ) So when the power goes out we sit. As far as they (power co.) is concerned we are just 2 customers.

We had to run it 17 hrs. last week after a thunderstorm trashed the area. Ran it 4 days after a bad storm a few years ago. It will run everything at one time vac pump, bulk tank, silo unloaders , barn cleaner, ect. plus the house.

Your idea to hire a electrician is a good one. Power Co. will want to see a double throw switch before they work on your line if you have a generator running.
