Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Mbmaring is correct - Hold the Volume/Minute key until the data display flashes. This is the "second meaning" for this key.
More than likely you will see a flashing "0" meaning the current low limit is "0", change the value to establish the low limit that you desire. The console will attempt to maintain your target Rate per acre until this low limit is reached. As you continue to slow down (waterways etc.) there will be a point where the low limit that you set is reached. The console will not lower the flow rate/minute beyond this value.
This will of course, result in an overapplication which is generally more desirable than having the tips check off.
This feature was not present in the early Raven models but has been included for many years. If your 440 allows you to set it up for radar, etc. then you have this feature.
Another feature that is available but unknown to many users is the "delay to automatic" feature. This feature allows the operator to tell the 440 to stay in Manual so to speak for a while after the Master is turned ON. The delay to automatic is not appropriate for your problem. There are other instances where this is handy.
For example, with NH3 there are no checks in the system. Shutting off the NH3 on a headland and then turning the Master back on for the next pass often results in a rush of product until the system gets refilled. The flowmeter reports this rush and the system calculates the applied rate which is excessive. The system then attempts to reduce the flow by adjusting the control valve. About the time the flow is reduced, the system gets filled and the rate has been reduced too much. Putting in a delay to automatic of a few seconds can help avoid this effect.
