Trackframes. How long is too long??

It's basicly the same reason you dont put a idler sprocket or pulley on the "work" side of the chain or belt.

On a trackframe powered up front, the track has a straight line on top where the power is, and is slack on the "terrain following" side. I'm sure you've watched several feet of film with modern military tanks. Next time watch with the design in mind.
