Subject: RE: foreign matter in edible snap beans

Jim, the problem that we have with harvesting snap beans is that the heads on our pickers suck up everything.  We try to set our picking fingers as close to the ground as we can to be able to harvest the beans on the bottom of the plant.  That is why the stalks have to be worked and the field has to be clean.  I will try to add a photo of the picker and what the field looked like the first time we tried strip till.
