Subject: Erosion on strips in bean stubble

Driftless SW Wisconsin

Loran,

There is always the potential for erosion on strips in bean stubble no matter whose machine or what type of machine makes them. This is one reason I really like to strip into bean stubble especially in the spring following wih the planter as soon as the strips grey off limits the amount of time they are really susceptible. Leave the stubble as it is behind the combine until just ahead of planting especially on any sort of slope. Going across the slope helps. Note Jerry has Joe's high speed kit which really seems to eliminate the cut edge.
