Subject: Notill corn on corn

I was wanting to notill corn into corn stalks. How do you get your nitrogen on? Last year I planted 36 acres, I applied 28% over the top. The yeild was down 20-30 bushel less than corn after beans. What I was thinking is that I ran out N late in the summer. My planter is not set up to put on starter. The only way I can think to put N on is to sidedress 28 in, but I didn,t know if the bar would go through stalks. I do have a strip till bar to put NH3 on, but with it raining ever other day I'm not sure that would be the way to go planting on top of the NH3. Thanks
